Research Interests:
I am interested in understanding how contaminants persist, transform, and interact within engineered and natural systems to better inform water quality and regulatory standards. My current research investigates how biofilms impact the sorption capacity of granular activated carbon for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). As a member of both the Wigginton and Szczuka labs, I am also interested in understanding the fundamental mechanisms driving viral persistence and plan to leverage my background in analytical chemistry to investigate pathogen behavior in complex environmental systems.
