Krista Wigginton Receives Newly Established Paul G. and Dorothy A. Ganzenhuber Professorship

U-M CEE is proud to announce that Professor Krista Rule Wigginton has been approved by the Board of Regents as the Paul G. and Dorothy A. Ganzenhuber Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, effective March 1, 2026.

The title acknowledges and celebrates Wigginton’s outstanding contributions to research on pathogenic viruses and water contaminants. Her work has helped to advance the detection and understanding of these viruses in natural and engineered environments to reduce their spread, as well as to modify wastewater treatment processes to remove chemical and biological contaminants. She has supplied her research to a wide range of interdisciplinary applications, including water reuse, public health surveillance, and environmental virology.
